Investing In A Jumping Castle Can Be A Stress Reliever

Kids’ parties are a time of pure fun where care and worries have no place. They don’t even need expensive toys or party props to enjoy themselves. But just so they remember the day for a good many years, a jumping castle can be rented.

Known by several names, jumping castles or inflatable castles are incredibly fun, even for adults. Party supplies companies almost always stock them, proof that this usual kiddy toy still enjoys huge popularity among a wide customer base.

Like any party prop and toy, jumping castles have their share of risks, all of which can be eliminated with proper use. If you’re hiring one or think of buying one, here’s what you need to know.

Purchase or rent age-appropriate castles

Not all jumping castles for sale can be used by older children. Some are designed to hold low weights of children aged 5 and below. If it’s meant for older children or adults, make certain that it’s manufactured for the same and clearly states so. There’s a good risk of accidents occurring otherwise.

Check quality

Jumping castles shake and that’s to be expected but they mustn’t move around so much that there’s a risk of children falling off. Castles meant for adults too should be chosen with care even if they don’t intend to play inside.

Check capacity

Jumping castles are designed to hold certain weights. Smaller ones will be able to accommodate two or three children while those intended for commercial use may triple that number. Naturally, larger castles with a higher capacity are more expensive but even if you must invest more, do, as it could mean the difference between safe play and scary accidents.

Castles for adults are weightier to counterbalance the heavier weight. An 8×8 foot one won’t do as it’s only big enough to support two children so you’ll probably need one that’s 8×12 or 8×15 feet depending on how many people will be using it.

When verifying size, find out if the inside dimensions include the entrance step. If it does, you’ll have to add another couple of feet or so to the overall size.

Safety features to be included:

Jumping castles are built for safety but some lack certain features. Whether you’re purchasing one for residential or commercial use, it should have a soft floor to cushion against falls, preferably be made of vinyl or nylon and free of palates, have secure tie-downs so that the structure doesn’t wobble too much and a strong base so weight is kept balanced.
